I have done a lot of thinking- and with the coming of the new year, I need a new beginning. I believe truly, in order for myself to approach food normally, food blogging isn't going to continue to be a positive thing for me. Now, I know for many of you it is a wonderful asset to your recovery, and I encourage you to continue with it. But for me, I just have no love for it anymore. I don't really like thinking about blogging, what meals to put together, and taking pictures, every.single.day. I have just lost my passion, it has become more stressful than an enjoyment. I need some time to pull everything together, and finally adjust to this new way of life. Awhile back I thought about switching over to a new site- I put it together and everything, and one day I will come back. But this blog, is dunzo (sorry to the laguna reference!). I know a lot of you find my posts and meals inspirational, and I still want to help you. You can contact me any day, and any time at<b> kfred622@gmail.com </b>I still have all of you on google reader, expect many comments from me, because I do love you all!<br />

What do you all have planned today?! A friend and I are just laying low- We're going to Noodles&Company for dinner, and then watching movies! I used to be a "party girl" but that just isn't my scene anymore. I'm much more of a homebody! I have to run some errands this morning, but after that it's pj's, popcorn, and hot chocolate!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Last night my mom and I had a change of plans- dinner didn't exactly work out! So I made us turkey hot dogs + Sweet potato fries!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzzBQlM7aRI/AAAAAAAAAS4/gbZ3dVib5ug/s1600-h/IMG_0330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzzBQlM7aRI/AAAAAAAAAS4/gbZ3dVib5ug/s400/IMG_0330.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Carbs, protein & fat!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Heated dark chocolate granola cookie! (it was a lot bigger than it looks!)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzzCAbLSjgI/AAAAAAAAATI/PDmMBd8K0jY/s1600-h/IMG_0333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzzCAbLSjgI/AAAAAAAAATI/PDmMBd8K0jY/s400/IMG_0333.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Same mixture of oats + vanilla granola this time! :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Its nice- when I wake up like 30 minutes later, there's sunshine for prettier pictures!!<br />

I got called into work for an 11-4 shift, (keep in mind it takes about 35 minutes to drive there) and I get there- and an hour later they send me home! gah. such a waste of time!!!!! other than that, I guess my day is okay.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So you all had lovely guesses for my "surprise" gift but.... it is...<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">A SNUGGIE!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szu_47ifkEI/AAAAAAAAASQ/qTVitnUfOIo/s1600-h/IMG_0324.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szu_47ifkEI/AAAAAAAAASQ/qTVitnUfOIo/s400/IMG_0324.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Don't mind my shower hair + no makeup! This thing is sooo nice for reading + blogging. It keeps my arms nice and warm, :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">SO I guess you are all wondering about my meal plan. as I said it is all about "balance".. a balance of different food groups.. Its not a meal plan per say, just a rough guide. At meals I need to have 3 food groups, and 2 groups at a snack!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvAZ0i7l4I/AAAAAAAAASY/vKaa-aqKuoQ/s1600-h/IMG_0321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvAZ0i7l4I/AAAAAAAAASY/vKaa-aqKuoQ/s400/IMG_0321.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is still a staple snack for me! and it counts as "balanced snack" grain + protein/dairy<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">(it does not need to be measured, because no matter how much granola I add- it's still a grain, you see?)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvAuLGw4MI/AAAAAAAAASg/UIepGswqsBY/s1600-h/IMG_0323.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvAuLGw4MI/AAAAAAAAASg/UIepGswqsBY/s400/IMG_0323.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pita pizza!!! Crust=grain, Cheese= protein/dairy, Tomato sauce+apple= fruits and veggies (in the "natural vitamin" group...) You see?! Its pretty simple<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvBBjAls_I/AAAAAAAAASo/9T5P3cjgm8U/s1600-h/IMG_0327.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvBBjAls_I/AAAAAAAAASo/9T5P3cjgm8U/s400/IMG_0327.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This shall be called "Caramel latte oatmeal"<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Caramel latte biscotti + oats.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What's in my oatmeal? Well, I always used to cook it with water, but to add a 3rd group, I started cooking it with milk. I don't like it as much, but whateverrr.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sooo.. 1/2 oats, wheat germ, cinnamon, biscotti =Carbs!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Peanut butter= fat/protein<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">milk= dairy/protein<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvBhfDjnnI/AAAAAAAAASw/iZWQT_uxUEA/s1600-h/IMG_0329.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SzvBhfDjnnI/AAAAAAAAASw/iZWQT_uxUEA/s400/IMG_0329.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Peanut butter sandwich (carb + protein/fat)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Goldfish(carb)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">clemmie (fruit)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">cottage cheese (protein/dairy/fat)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">its sooo easy! See tonight i'm going out to dinner! I'm planning on ordering a chicken wrap with fries..<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Chicken wrap w/ ranch (Carb, protein, fat)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">oven baked fries (Carb, fat)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">although I know its higher in calories, nutritional wise it is "balanced" which right now, is all that matters. :)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Have a wonderful day!<br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-85068081184129845892009-12-29T13:16:00.000-06:002009-12-29T13:16:46.368-06:00UPDATE!<div style="text-align: center;">Hey girls! Thank you so much for all of the support! Sorry I didn't post last night, I got called into work at the last minute and I was exhausted when I got home!! Anyways, my appointment went well today! My new dietician gave me a great, unstructured food plan! Ovb. no calorie counting here! I just need to find "balance" of healthy whole foods! :) It seems like everything will go well, its pretty much what I was already doing, but just a little more! :) Alrighttt, well Im going to go relax and watch some TV! Byee loves <3<br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-64359985232609548112009-12-28T08:17:00.001-06:002009-12-28T08:19:37.444-06:00Honesty<div style="text-align: center;">As many of you might already know, a few weeks ago I talked about gaining weight. I did gain those last few pounds (they were probably all chocolate! haha..) But reaching my "goal weight" started a whole new problem. I have been struggling. No, I haven't lost weight. I have had a completely different struggle all in its own. Ever since my problems started, I was a avid calorie counter. After I saw a Dietician I counted food groups. Sadly, I have reverted back to calorie counting. The number I have stayed at is a number to maintain my current weight. I have met that "goal" every day. The thing is, I don't want to have a "goal", I don't want to plan meals, I don't want it to be something to stress over. Eating should be natural and enjoyed. When did I loose this? I am happy with my weight and everything, but I think the whole reason behind counting is that I dont wait to GAIN or LOOSE weight. How can I trust my mind, and my body to know what is right? I don't know what "normal eating" is. Because of this, I have been searching for a different dietician to see. I have an appointment tomorrow. I think this would be the answers to all my problems. Someone who knows that they are talking about. The funny thing is, my new dietician is a guy! I never thought that would happen. But in my opinion, I think a guy would be a lot more upfront and helpful (no offense to us girls), but I've always preferred male doctors!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">WHEW! I had to get that off my chest.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So what have you all been eating? My family has been stuck with a million leftovers! As I mentioned before, when my grandma cooked beef, I brought chicken! I don't like to eat a lot of meat in one sitting (it still kinda gives me the creeps) so I have enough chicken for about a week! Last night I wanted to try something different!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi83fCRf-I/AAAAAAAAARo/hbIZySA9vOI/s1600-h/IMG_0310.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi83fCRf-I/AAAAAAAAARo/hbIZySA9vOI/s400/IMG_0310.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had a sandwich like this in a restaurant, and I loved it! I got 2 slices of bread. 4 OZ (cooked) chicken, Tomato sauce, and 1 OZ cheese! I just broiled it in the oven for a few minutes, and it was gooood to go!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi9K2qwoOI/AAAAAAAAARw/GLpSF3XqDVI/s1600-h/IMG_0311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi9K2qwoOI/AAAAAAAAARw/GLpSF3XqDVI/s400/IMG_0311.JPG" width="400" /></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">and of course, I always start my days with oatmeal! I don't know what I'll do in the summer!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi9WhRkt1I/AAAAAAAAAR4/573LEuPqPEk/s1600-h/IMG_0303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Szi9WhRkt1I/AAAAAAAAAR4/573LEuPqPEk/s400/IMG_0303.JPG" /></a><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">can you see the difference between fake and natural lighting?<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I still haven't shown you guys a couple of my presents! Can you guess what they are? I'll *use* one later tonight!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Christmas went a tad bit better than what I expected, although the food did cause me a lot of stress. We had a brunch planned at 11, but I woke up at 7.. and I couldn't wait to eat. I had a typical oatmeal bowl.. and we trudged off to my grandmas! We had a huge brunch, I wasn't too hungry, but I ate anyways. Everyone had massive breakfasts while I only had 2 mini bagels, fruit salad, scrambled eggs ( I don't like breakfast meats) and therefore noone else was hungry all day.. but I like to eat ever 3 hours or so, and my grandma had basically NOTHING I could eat. but whatever, I made it through and ate a lot when I got home! Hope everyone else made it through yesterday! have a fabulous weekend. I'll be back on monday!<br />

Have a fabulous weekend!Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-72533531848816354552009-12-24T08:21:00.001-06:002009-12-24T08:25:26.529-06:00Merry Christmas (eve) !<div style="text-align: center;">This is so crazy! its the first year that it doesn't feel like Christmas! I just got out of school on TUESDAY! I normally get out like a week before.. I am stressing out a bit from the holidays- most likely along with most of you. My (extended) family and I don't exactly see eye-to-eye. I am literally everything they are not. I have one of the most liberal/democratic person you will ever meet. While my extended family are very, very, republican. They hunt, and I hate the idea of eating meat (even though I have to now.), they support the war and send money to the government, and I've gone to anti-war rallies. Obviously I care about them because they are family- they just are very hurtful sometimes. My grandma gets upset when I bring my own food to their dinners. They are making this beef thing, and I don't eat red meat- and therefore I am bringing chicken. But that's not okay with her, she gets offended because I won't eat her food. ANYWAYS- on a lighter note, my breakfast yesterday was verrry typical.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">MMM. These cookies have HUGE chunks of dark chocolate. (from my taste, maybe like 60%?) They are good.. the flavors really complement themselves! I love to eat them plain, crush them in yogurt, or put in oats! I HIGHLY recommend these. They are suuuuper good. A 9/10!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">I've definitely been feeling sluggish these past two days. Its the last week of high school (forever!) for me, and I just can't seem to make it! I can't concentrate, I don't feel like studying for finals, I just want to sit around and read! Not. good. I kept my grades up so high this semester, then even if I didn't take the final AT ALL I'd still pass. but of course, not with an A. Im sure this weekend i'll buckle down and really study.... but I just don't know :/ I'm ready to be doneee!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Breakfast for dinner on sunday! (scrambled eggs w/ BROC and cheese) PB toast and an orange!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Lotss of sweets...<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Syg80vrtEUI/AAAAAAAAANo/o0UT3gF8bOE/s1600-h/IMG_0199.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Syg80vrtEUI/AAAAAAAAANo/o0UT3gF8bOE/s320/IMG_0199.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I see that eating high calorie sweets is the easiest way to gain weight.. but honestly.. I am all sugared out! I guess I was just meant to eat healthy.. my tummy rejects uber sweetness now :( That's alright. Dark chocolate and peanut butter NEVER fail me, :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sooo.. what did I eat for dessert tonight? Well, I wanted something STABLE and not too sugary so my tummy will go to sleep happy :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Syg9jJq_qFI/AAAAAAAAAOA/HRfpCu2nxKg/s1600-h/IMG_0208.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Syg9jJq_qFI/AAAAAAAAAOA/HRfpCu2nxKg/s320/IMG_0208.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">APPLE PB SANDWICHES! Theres two in the other corner (unpictured) so this is easy as pie... just slather 2 TBSP on a large apple, and eat up!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Posting might be a bit sporadic this week. I really have to study; as much as I don't want too, I must.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have a lovely night!<br />
</div><br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-52532591629646568862009-12-13T16:48:00.000-06:002009-12-13T16:48:43.391-06:00pizza, :)<div style="text-align: center;">Last year on new years day I went to pizza hut with my mom. I was a vegetarian at the time, so I ordered a cheese pizza. I woke the next morning with food poisoning! Disgusting, I was throwing up all day. I haven't eaten pizza out since. I think a I used my "sickness" as an excuse to not eat pizza at all.. (except homemade and frozen...) So last night, at my friends party.. I stepped out of my comfort zone and had a couple slices of cheeese pizza! and guess what? I survived. :)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This morning I ate my typical oatmeal bowl. (no picture, you must get bored of the same thing!)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">but I did have something newww!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVt7mXhCCI/AAAAAAAAAM4/xdTxtz2oZuU/s1600-h/IMG_0188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVt7mXhCCI/AAAAAAAAAM4/xdTxtz2oZuU/s320/IMG_0188.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">a cutie clementine<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVuA4xrY3I/AAAAAAAAANA/A2bAow9HYjo/s1600-h/IMG_0186.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVuA4xrY3I/AAAAAAAAANA/A2bAow9HYjo/s320/IMG_0186.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I loooove oranges, but I am so bad at peeling them!! These clementines were so easy to peel, and tasted ALMOST like a orange! :) <br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My morning snack consisted of chocolate, yes chocolate! I don't care if it's 10 in the morning or 10 at night, there is ALWAYS time for chocolate :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVuSKo2t4I/AAAAAAAAANI/IZGrheb9tCo/s1600-h/IMG_0189.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVuSKo2t4I/AAAAAAAAANI/IZGrheb9tCo/s320/IMG_0189.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">"LU" dark chocolate biscuits (I had 2 + yogurt) soooo good! :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Lunch today consisted of chicken salad (made with laughing cow) in a WW Pita w/ a serving of wheat thins and a string cheese :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVugfN_3yI/AAAAAAAAANQ/2CfZysvdLx0/s1600-h/IMG_0193.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVugfN_3yI/AAAAAAAAANQ/2CfZysvdLx0/s320/IMG_0193.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVukbnIFaI/AAAAAAAAANY/ejBuXKUKL6Q/s1600-h/IMG_0194.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyVukbnIFaI/AAAAAAAAANY/ejBuXKUKL6Q/s320/IMG_0194.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">yumm! with celery, of course :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had A LOT of review packets to do today, so I basically sat on the couch ALL day, listening to music and eating sunchips :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Im watching Degrassi right now :) I loved the old shows so much better! but the new characters are just alright.. :/<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also have a question for you all! What granola do you use?! I have been eating my Quaker. I am almost out. I don't like it that much, so I wont buy it again! My fav. is Cascadian Farm cinnamon raisin (but I take the raisins out.. totally defeats the purpose!) I like <a href="http://www.naturespath.com/products/granola?tid=88&brand=All&nutri=All">natures path</a> peanut butter A LOT, but I want to try something new! has anyone tried their pumpkin flax, or agave plus?!? or what other brands do you recommend? <br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-78801259530966262982009-12-12T16:39:00.000-06:002009-12-12T16:39:37.800-06:00weekend!<div style="text-align: center;">Aaaah :) I am soo happy that it is Saturday! This past week went by so slow! :( So you know how I mentioned that I ALWAYS eat the same breakfast?! Well, on Friday I mixed it up a bit!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQZEAwxYoI/AAAAAAAAAMg/rqcuOgRauag/s1600-h/IMG_0177.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQZEAwxYoI/AAAAAAAAAMg/rqcuOgRauag/s320/IMG_0177.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">WW english muffin, 1 TBSP peanut butter, yogurt + granola (you can't see it!)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It was good when I ate it.. but it did not keep me full AT ALL! I was so surprised! I used to eat this allll the time over the summer, but oatmeal is so much more filling!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had to work last night, and I had pancakes for dinner! (sorry no pic, I was so hungry I forgot!)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This morning I had to volunteer at "breakfast with santa" so they had eggs and toast there! I had a slice of toast with jam, and some eggs! I was STARVED when I got home, so I made a nice lunch!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQZnrdc-qI/AAAAAAAAAMo/Uq1yt3cAEz0/s1600-h/IMG_0183.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQZnrdc-qI/AAAAAAAAAMo/Uq1yt3cAEz0/s320/IMG_0183.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">WW Bread, turkey mayo + cheese PANINI! Kashi cheddar crackers! and string cheese :) I DID NOT get this string cheese because it is "weight watchers" I got it because I had a 2 dollar off coupon. It has the same stats as the other one I get, just a diff. name :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">After lunch we ran to the grocery store, I was low on lots of stuff!! afterwards I had a typical snack :<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQbRs4eKNI/AAAAAAAAAMw/uvComscO2uw/s1600-h/IMG_0179.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyQbRs4eKNI/AAAAAAAAAMw/uvComscO2uw/s320/IMG_0179.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This time I added H2H, you can't see it.. BUT ITS IN THERE :) and I had 1/2 of a english muffin- I was hungryyyy!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Tonight I am off to a friends house for her birthday. She's ordering pizza (not my favorite) so I'll have a mini dinner before, and have a piece or two once I get there :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have an AMAZING weekend!!!!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

It was FRIGID here today. Think like -15 windchills :( I was definitely bundled up today! hahaha. So you might wonder why I never post my breakfast? I have basically the same thing ever single day...<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyGSjCAuQqI/AAAAAAAAAL4/V4gPkoDMtWs/s1600-h/IMG_0170.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyGSjCAuQqI/AAAAAAAAAL4/V4gPkoDMtWs/s320/IMG_0170.JPG" /></a><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I don't like eating cold cereal during the winter! I like something hot to warm me up!! :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">My after school snack is normally the same thing, too.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">With cheese and an apple (and unpictured glass of m-i-l-k)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What is my cookie of choice tonight?!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Just like the snowman one, but with sprinkles!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am TOTALLY in the holiday spirit! I just wish it would be a TAD bit warmer!! :D<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm off to do some studying, watch csi, take a bath (does anyone else take a bath anymore? I love them!) and go to bed!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><i>Do you normally eat the same breakfasts every day? or mix it up?!</i><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-60464201303085658432009-12-09T18:51:00.000-06:002009-12-09T18:51:11.333-06:00School<div style="text-align: center;">.....sucks! I deff. had school today, which was a MAJOR disappointment. I live right near Lake Michigan so all we got was sleet.. instead of snow!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I bet some of you are wondering what I am doing, based on what I mentioned <a href="http://kateyswordsoflove.blogspot.com/2009/12/snow-day.html">here</a>. I decided that I am going to get my BMI <i>past </i>the 18.5 benchmark. I am aiming for around 19-19.5. I am going to take this SLOWLY. Therefore I am not going to overstuff myself and be completely uncomfortable as happened in the past. I wanted to remind all you that I am considered to have a healthy weight. But in my mind, I'd rather be over the benchmark than <b>right at it.</b> So, how exactly am I doing this? When I originally met with my nutritionist she had me counting food groups. I liked the plan of eating healthy foods- just MORE of them, you know? So here's how it will go. I will eat my normal meals, but add more nutritious things to it (fats, proteins, carbs) so therefore, no counting calories. I already have a "treat" every day, but I will be eating a lot more dark chocolate daily- healthy fats & antioxidants. And you can't forget holiday cookies! ;)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So what was my dinner last night?<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyBEYdTv79I/AAAAAAAAALY/WjtuhIkgEdE/s1600-h/IMG_0162.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyBEYdTv79I/AAAAAAAAALY/WjtuhIkgEdE/s320/IMG_0162.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Whole wheat english muffins, broiled with tomatoes and cheese (2 OZ rather than 1), <a href="http://www.alexiafoods.com/">Alexia</a> Fries, Un-pictured apple and milk(2%, fat, protein). For maintenance I normally had to have <i>one</i> dairy at every meal, but I will be having 2 at most meals.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Dinner tonight:<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyBFCUSoteI/AAAAAAAAALg/TF6byZsD0G0/s1600-h/IMG_0166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SyBFCUSoteI/AAAAAAAAALg/TF6byZsD0G0/s320/IMG_0166.JPG" /></a><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I already ate his nose, and a choco chip fell off! :( He was very delicious.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I will be having milk and cookies while watching LIFEEETIME!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>Did anyone have a snow day today?! </b><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b>....and what is your favorite type of holiday cookie?</b><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><b><br />
</b><br />

We were supposed to get a major snowstorm tonight (meaning a snow day..) and we are only supposed to get sleet now! gaaaaaah. totally ruined my day. Anyways, anyone watch gossip girl last night?! INTENSE! I totally want Serena to end up with Nate!!! He's a hottie ;) So how did I spend my night last night?! Well of course, watching gossip girl and eating this lovely bowl:<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sx7BJket2QI/AAAAAAAAAKw/zwLxg2iNNP4/s1600-h/IMG_0153.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sx7BJket2QI/AAAAAAAAAKw/zwLxg2iNNP4/s320/IMG_0153.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">A good old favorite. Skinny cow(hate the name) ice cream sandwich with some good ol' vanilla ice cream. Mashed and mixed together :) Just like cookies and cream! and then I CRASHED! I don't know why, but I was so exhausted. This morning I actually turned off my alarm and went back to sleep! I haven't done that in FOREVER. I am totally praying (pray for me) that I have a snow day, then I can sleep all day! haha :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This morning I was coooold! I had a bowl of oatmeal, like I do every day<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">yummmmm :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well after that, I was off to school! I bring the same lunch almost every day.. so I see no need in taking a picture of it! I just got home like 30 minutes ago, and am currently eating..<br />

It would seriously be my dream come true! tomorrow night we are supposed to get a lot of snow... (6+ inches) I will seriously do a snow dance or something! haha. I doubt we will have a snow day.. my school wouldn't even close for a nuclear war! (exaggerating, I know.) I haven't been up to much lately. Homework and lying around. 11 more days of high school!!!! I'm so excited! Last night I had my typical "breakfast for dinner" but I mixed it up a bit :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sx2fwXoM5KI/AAAAAAAAAKg/UzpMxtl7nj0/s1600-h/IMG_0147.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sx2fwXoM5KI/AAAAAAAAAKg/UzpMxtl7nj0/s320/IMG_0147.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hope that isn't blurry. I had a tortilla (a big one, that's a dinner plate it is on..) with scrambled eggs & SHARP cheddar cheese! (my fav.) It was good. Eating wraps sometimes makes me angry! I always somehow rip the tortilla and everything falls out! oh well, that's what forks are for!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">DID ANYONE WATCH DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES LAST NIGHT?!?!?! I cannot believe it! and I am soooo mad they didn't show next week's preview! I want to know who died! aaah. the suspense is building!!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Tonight for dinner, I had another favorite! <a href="http://www.wildharvestorganic.com/servlets/productDetails?productId=187&categoryId=19">Wild Harvest Organic Margherita pizza</a>!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This brand is one of the FEW organic brans that Jewel offers.. so I take advantage of it!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">For those of you who read my blog originally. You would know I have struggled with my weight. Im about to get VERY personal.. but you know what?! I'm okay with it. I feel that people here would understand, and be helpful. Here it goes. I am a current senior (i am saying this to give a point of reference). My sophomore year of high school was quite the roller coaster. I was hanging out with the wrong crowd, and doing the wrong things. I was on the verge of depression, a long with other things. I went to the doctor and I was diagnosed with PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) My emotions were all over the place, but I realized it was around "my time of the month". I was put on yaz birth control(and still on it). I started it around christmastime. It really helped all of my emotional and physical issues. I pushed all of the negative influences, and negative people out of my life. Things were going great. Birth control can have two effects on people gain weight, or loose it. I was in the category of weight gain. I gained about 10-15 pounds. My cup size went up 2 sizes, and I was completely uncomfortable (keep in mind, I ate the same, and was still active. It was all because of the pill). I became okay with it. I accepted myself for who I was.. because being myself was just enough. I still retained a couple close friends.. but one betrayed me. It was horrible, her and her friends were always calling me fat.. just to be mean (keep in mind, being 5'9 I only weighed around 140/145, which is completely healthy BTW). It really affected me. I just pushed it out of my mind.. Fast forward to mid-junior year. I decided to become a vegetarian, for animal rights reasons. Sound great?! keep reading... I started eating no meat, and incorporating more healthy foods. I began working out in moderation. I felt great, because I lost all the water weight that I gained. But I thought "why can't I do more?" I began restricting, only eating about 1400 calories a day ( my RMR at the time as 1500.. so I wasn't even eating enough to survive) and I was working out constantly. I saw it as a "lifestyle" change. I thought it was great. This went on from second semester junior year to mid-summer(around when my blog started.) I went to my "pre school checkup" And I was underweight. I was shocked "how could I get so far?" I am not posting my lowest weight. But my BMI was 17.1 I was referred to a nutritionist. I saw her TWICE, and only twice. First, she had me on a meal plan ( I gained a lot of weight back after this appt.), and I went back two months later. At that point I had about 2-3 pounds to gain to be at 18.5 (lowest healthy choice)(and I gained it.).. She said I was "doing great" and whatever. I never got any other help in any respect. Never saw a therapist. Doctor never called. They assumed I could do it all on my own. And I did. As I said before, I was never diagnosed with a disorder. Which is why I think they didn't go further. I am over the degrading and the restricting, and I am focused on living life. I haven't had any distorted thoughts since "before" and I am happy to say that I have stayed with maintenance. The one last thing is, I haven't gained any weight then was last required.. My bmi is a 18.5-the lowest I could be while still being considered "Healthy". What triggered all of this? The pants I bought yesterday were TWO sizes smaller than I used to wear, and are still kinda big. I am on the mindset right now that I need to gain a little more weight. How much? I don't know. Honestly, this is where I am looking for your advice. I hate the process of gaining weight, and constantly "stuffing my face". I am 95% sure its what I need to do. <b>What is your opinion on this? If you were me, what would you do?</b><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b></b> I am sorry if I got to personal at all, but I have felt the need for a LONG time just to write everything down, and get everything out. Thank you for listening.<br />

I am not ready for winter! It was such an unwelcomed surprise for my body. I have been freeeezing ever since the temp went below 30!! Yesterday for lunch I had a grilled cheese (on the sandwich maker) and tomato soup!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv8Z9RltuI/AAAAAAAAAKA/3PmU5FpTmAE/s1600-h/IMG_0141.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv8Z9RltuI/AAAAAAAAAKA/3PmU5FpTmAE/s320/IMG_0141.JPG" /></a><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv8dJBx2uI/AAAAAAAAAKI/nUWgLS-BVgM/s1600-h/IMG_0142.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv8dJBx2uI/AAAAAAAAAKI/nUWgLS-BVgM/s320/IMG_0142.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Later in the afternoon my mom and I went to the mall! We needed to return some less than stellar black friday buys, and I needed new jeans. Ever since I gained weight, I never bought new jeans! I just made the most out of what I had.. (when I lost weight I never really bought new jeans then either) but I was in desperate need of better fitting jeans. And I found them!! They fit awesome, and it makes me feel so much better :) We ate in the food court..<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have you ever tried subway's flatbread sandwiches?! They are SOO good.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv9Agw8pdI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/9I287gJ3GUk/s1600-h/IMG_0144.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv9Agw8pdI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/9I287gJ3GUk/s320/IMG_0144.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I got it toasted with turkey, cheese, lettuce and green peppers!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv9IwTd6cI/AAAAAAAAAKY/6rEPw37WEOA/s1600-h/IMG_0143.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/Sxv9IwTd6cI/AAAAAAAAAKY/6rEPw37WEOA/s320/IMG_0143.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">and I ate half of my mom's steak fries! (sooo good....)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I've just been relaxing today nothing much to do.. and its nice to have time to yourself! I am running to Plato's closet with a friend later to sell my old jeans. I hope you ladies have a fabulous day!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">If and of you gals gained weight (or lost it!) how long did you wait to treat yourself to new jeans?<br />

I've got two more weeks, and then I AM DONE! I cannot wait. I just have to get finished with papers, tests, and finals. Breathe in, Breathe out. I was super busy last night. I had 2 tests to study for, and a paper to write! I am sorry for being AWOL. I have been eating well though, of course. Intense studying calls for amazing snacks to keep me sane!!!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Yesterday morning I started with something different ( I know, no oatmeal) In the cold/winter I always crave hot foods.. so cereal doesn't cut it.<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnB9tZFF3I/AAAAAAAAAJY/51FOaMxZJNU/s1600-h/IMG_0125.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnB9tZFF3I/AAAAAAAAAJY/51FOaMxZJNU/s320/IMG_0125.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://thomas.bimbobakeriesusa.com/product.cfm/upc/4812125505">Thomas</a> whole wheat bagel, with peanut butter, of course!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I looove these bagel's! Its hard to find whole wheat new york style bagels (my favorite!!!)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I've been eating decent snacks, too.. :<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnCyL5KXYI/AAAAAAAAAJg/jPyQ2Ztk2aw/s1600-h/IMG_0128.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnCyL5KXYI/AAAAAAAAAJg/jPyQ2Ztk2aw/s320/IMG_0128.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Cottage Cheese w/ Jewel brand Honey Wheat pretzels!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">When it gets cold outside, I CRAVE mac and cheese! Last night I had a mad craving for some.. but we had NOTHING not even a kraft box!!! so I created my own!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDF1RZ3DI/AAAAAAAAAJo/nR1lgMZLPMA/s1600-h/IMG_0135.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDF1RZ3DI/AAAAAAAAAJo/nR1lgMZLPMA/s320/IMG_0135.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 oz pasta shape of choice (i chose spiral.. my fav.)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 LC cheese wedges<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1/8 cup of milk.<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Easiest and healthiest mac and cheese of my life!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Basically you cook the noodles. While the noodles are cooking, mush up the 2 wedges in a microwave safe bowl.. add the milk to the mixture, stir a little and micro for 30 secs. (you might hear popping, that's normal) and voila! you have a cheese sauce. After the pasta is cooked and drained, add the sauce to the noodles and there's your dinner!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDjsDpohI/AAAAAAAAAJw/jSBE66J4M8s/s1600-h/IMG_0136.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDjsDpohI/AAAAAAAAAJw/jSBE66J4M8s/s320/IMG_0136.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used the regular LC not the light. If you use the light you might have to microwave longer, because its harder to melt cheese with less fat!!!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Another craving I have during cold weather is pancakes!!!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDzBRjm7I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/2_hZTCJr1wY/s1600-h/IMG_0140.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxnDzBRjm7I/AAAAAAAAAJ4/2_hZTCJr1wY/s320/IMG_0140.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I used Hungry Man wheat pancakes. I added cinnamon and DOUSED them in SF maple syrup! yummmmmm :) I love winter, it has the best food!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well, I am off to go relax, read a book and GO TO SLEEP EARLY! have a lovely weekend!!!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-33178375887609093452009-12-02T15:51:00.000-06:002009-12-02T15:51:45.185-06:00College Student!<div style="text-align: center;">So I am officially registered for COLLEGE classes next semester! I am currently in high school, but I am graduating this december (as some of you may already know..) Anyways, I started this morning with a nice, warm bowl of oats :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxbggFz-isI/AAAAAAAAAJI/-8_yyw56fiU/s1600-h/IMG_0118.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxbggFz-isI/AAAAAAAAAJI/-8_yyw56fiU/s320/IMG_0118.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, spoonful of PB (mixed in, of course) and granola!!! I love the combo of crunchy/creamy!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I had a super long day today.. I had to go to this stupid "Freshman Orientation" which took ALL DAY. At least I got to choose my classes and get a free lunch. I hate cafeteria food... it gives me the creeps. You don't know how long that stuff has been sitting out there, and if its expired or not! But anyways, I had a grilled cheese and smartfood popcorn! I came home, exhausted.. and had a little snack<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Celery + LC<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That definitely didn't satisfy my hunger.. I had yogurt and crackers afterwards :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I never post my dinners because I usually have a frozen dinner *gasp* I know...<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The thing is, is that I don't have enough creativity to make my own meals! I usually have a Healthy Choice, Kashi, or Lean Cusine with an apple and milk... but I want some ideas!!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What do you ladies make for a simple, easy, healthy dinner?! I eat pasta that I make, but thats about it :(<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I would love ideas :D<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I don't have much time for an update today, I have lotsss of homework! There is something I want to talk about! Last month I started "intuitive eating", you can read about it <a href="http://kateyswordsoflove.blogspot.com/2009/10/intuitive-eating.html">here</a>. I read the book in its entirety, and tried to apply everything at once. That was a little too much.. I've been doing pretty well, but I decided that baby steps are best. This week I am working on Principal 1. (keep in mind, I am NOT using this program as a aid to weight loss, I want to maintain my weight, if not gain a little. I'm using it as an approach to a healthier relationship with food) Before I met with a nutritionist, I was counting calories like CRAZY. While seeing the nutritionist she had me counting carb points and food groups. Now I am at a healthy weight, and have been for a couple months now. Im want to eat like a normal person.. not count carbs or ANYTHING (the nutritionist had me following guidelines on my own, but she told me to do whatever I pleased when comfortable.. as long as I didn't loose weight). I have been doing this for about 3 weeks, not counting anything.. just following my intuition.<br />
<br />
In principal 1 it is "reject the diet mentality" although I was never on a "diet" I did have the mentality, I labeled foods as "good" and "bad" and used the nutritional information as a guide to my choices. I have been working on this a great deal. If I want a cookie for my morning snack, well you know what? I'll have it.. because the body is an amazing thing.. it evens out over time if you cooperate with it. I always measured all my food too. I used measuring cups, food scales.. etc. I got sick of it, I mean whats the point? and I have stopped all of it. except for <b>oatmeal.</b><br />
<br />
I <b>don't</b> measure my oatmeal to keep the "portion in check" or anything like that. I like my 1:2 ratio.. 1/2 oats, 1 cup water. It gives me the consistency I like, and its satisfying (for the body and mind) <br />
<br />
<i>Now my question for you is: </i>is measuring my oatmeal a diet mentality? or a personal preference?<br />
<br />
<br />
When you make a recipe, most of the time you follow the guidelines- so it turns out right. By doing so, you are not following a diet, you are simply making a pleasurable product... thats how I see it with my oats. If I put a little extra in, so what.. I just wont be as hungry later.<br />
<br />
So whats your opinion..? Should I continue to measure my oatmeal.. or just let it be? I'd like some advice :)Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-56629630436807601122009-11-30T16:59:00.000-06:002009-11-30T16:59:49.719-06:00CARBS!!<div style="text-align: center;">I love carbs... have I ever told you that?! Next to peanut butter and chocolate, carbs are my favorite thing!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I have a question for you.. What kind of bread do you use??? I don't use any "brand name" for a number of reasons.. 1) A lot of the time it is shipped across the country (bad for mother nature!) 2) icky preservatives to keep them fresh 3) at the local grocery store there aren't many organic bread brands.. and the ones that are available are often over 5 dollars. I get the fresh baked bread from Jewel!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRMgT9NxfI/AAAAAAAAAIo/o5grFRqHT5o/s1600/IMG_0100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRMgT9NxfI/AAAAAAAAAIo/o5grFRqHT5o/s320/IMG_0100.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">They bake their bread every day, or every other day (I asked!) and they use all natural ingredients (which is good!) and its tasty too :)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Last night I had a very YELLOW dinner!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRM0VzgRBI/AAAAAAAAAIw/QY53Gu5cQ5c/s1600/IMG_0102.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRM0VzgRBI/AAAAAAAAAIw/QY53Gu5cQ5c/s320/IMG_0102.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 eggs scrambled (one on plate, the other on sammie.. with cheese) and an orange! Every week my family has "breakfast for dinner" I switch it up with omelettes, eggs and toast, and sammies!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I feel like I have been absent for sooo long.. I have tried so many new things.. so here's another review!<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;">Reviewwww Time!</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">As I mentioned before, my local grocery store doesn't offer many organic brands.. and if they do they are EXPENSIVE! Bear naked granola (and other brands) go for about 5 dollars, and often last me only a couple weeks. A month or so ago.. I bought a different granola! <a href="http://www.quakeroats.com/">Quaker Oats</a> offers a lot of "natural granola". I am not one to buy "low fat" things, so I bought this <a href="http://www.quakeroats.com/products/oat-cereals/natural-granola/oats-and-honey.aspx">one</a>..<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRNbE78qQI/AAAAAAAAAI4/eeBorcBju9Q/s1600/IMG_0106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxRNbE78qQI/AAAAAAAAAI4/eeBorcBju9Q/s320/IMG_0106.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Let me tell you one crazy thing about me.. I HATE coconut.. I cannot stand it! Weird right?! Now.. when I bought this granola.. I didn't look at the ingredient list. It has both coconut, and coconut oil. And guess what? I actually liked it! There is a subtle coconut flavor.. but not enough to turn me away! It is really sweet.. so it is perfect to be paired with greek yogurt. When I use it with my sweetened yogurt.. I use less, but the crunch is still there! I give this a 8/10. I love the slivered almonds in it, I just wish it was a little less sweet<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">yumm. I had some today!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxROPiYhRWI/AAAAAAAAAJA/ppe0Q0-vdJc/s1600/IMG_0107.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxROPiYhRWI/AAAAAAAAAJA/ppe0Q0-vdJc/s320/IMG_0107.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I hope you ladies have a wonderful night. I am off to make dinnah, shower, and ONE TREE HILL + GOSSIP GIRL (and maybe some more peppermint bark.....)<br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Kayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00750473082324266222noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8255581728965877032.post-68406394011283924362009-11-29T16:59:00.001-06:002009-11-29T17:01:23.099-06:00SNOWW!!<div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;">We had our first flurries here today! I used to LOVE snow. I am a snowboarder (although I don't go as much as I used to). But now that I have to drive in it, I don't like it as much! I am terrified of slipping off the road. I drive like a total grandma in the winter, but I don't care! haha. I got off of work early today! it was a lovely present :)<br />
</div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;">Last night my mom and I watched a movie. I wanted a mix of salty+sweet...<br />
</div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL7Mv6t9jI/AAAAAAAAAIA/LO9S0EZ82fA/s1600/IMG_0082.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL7Mv6t9jI/AAAAAAAAAIA/LO9S0EZ82fA/s320/IMG_0082.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">popcorn and hot chocolate. Other than peppermint bark, hot chocolate is my favorite winter food!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This morning I had a lovely bowl of oatmeal. One of my favorite combos. I shall call this "Strawberry Crumble Oats"<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL7fFmu51I/AAAAAAAAAII/3iKPNG9BEkc/s1600/IMG_0084.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL7fFmu51I/AAAAAAAAAII/3iKPNG9BEkc/s320/IMG_0084.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 cup Oats<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 TBSP PB (mixed in)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 <a href="http://www.kashi.com/">Kashi</a> Strawberry Cereal bar (crummmmbled)<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I basically live off of everything kashi... I eat their heart to heart, and honey sunshine cereals. I have their bars and crackers A LOT... and I LOVE their pizza. Maybe I should buy some stocks?! hahahha jk<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;"><b><br />
</b></span><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-large;"><b>REVIEW!</b></span><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had a coupon for <a href="http://www.Naturevalley.com/">Nature Valley</a> Nut Clusters.. and I decided to buy some!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL8G0BOfLI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/UbLNnF9Skws/s1600/IMG_0089.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL8G0BOfLI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/UbLNnF9Skws/s320/IMG_0089.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I bought the<a href="http://naturevalley.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductId=36"> honey roasted peanut</a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL8UGh3etI/AAAAAAAAAIY/PagAqxxddKw/s1600/IMG_0093.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_nHZMh9u0Tpg/SxL8UGh3etI/AAAAAAAAAIY/PagAqxxddKw/s320/IMG_0093.JPG" /></a><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">They taste just like their peanut butter granola bars. I loved it! It was a little sweet, and salty. I loved the fact that they were in the little "clusters" because you could just grab one and pop it in your mouth! They were a perfect snack for work! a 9/10!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Well.. Im off to make some english muffin egg sammies, and relax the night away! have an awesome evening!!<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
